The Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition is pleased to announce their National Art Show March 12-27, 2011.  Juror Nathan Trotman, Curator of the Guggenheim Museum, selected 141pieces from almost 1583 entries and I am thrilled to announce that mine was one of the chosen. The grand opening will be held on March 12, 1-6PM at 499 Van Brunt Street, Red Hook, Brooklyn, NY.

BWAC’s 25,000 square foot gallery is in a Civil War-era warehouse on the waterfront. The vista of New York Harbor, spanning the Statue of Liberty to the Verrazano Bridge is one of the best in the city.

Words of Color Art Exhibition

I will be showing photographs of my art work  at the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition from September 12-October 25th, 2009.

words of color coverThe female form calls to me. I revel in its multitude of colors and textures and have chosen these ten works for BWAC Words of Color Show for just that reason.

In addition to being a painter, I am also a photographer. To make my work more accessible, I’ve photographed my larger scale originals. I call these photographs of my paintings “paint-o-graphs.”

These limited edition “paint-o-graphs” work individually or happily as a collection. The originals are also available.

Welcome!

Welcome to the website and blog of author and artist Carren Strock.

After 25 years of a contented heterosexual marriage, I fell in love with another woman. I experienced more passion, pain, isolation, and turmoil than I ever thought possible and I began to question who I really was. My journey from denial to self awareness, understanding and acceptance was not an easy one. I wrote Married Women Who Love Women, as a way to deal with my own discovery and to help other women deal with theirs.

Thank you for visiting my new website. Please be patient as I continue to update and improve it. While the main focus will continue to be my book, now in its second edition, I will also feature more about myself, art work, articles and essays, and eventually, more new books. While I will be adding resources, helpful links, and viewer questions and answers pertaining to this topic (as always, with total anonymity for correspondents), I will continue to respond to private e-mails as well. You can reach me here.
