When love reigns, peace will follow…
While I have been receiving email since MWLW came out in 1998, the second edition, published in 2008 has brought a surge of new emails from the US and from other countries also. And many more are from husbands. I received three this week from husbands in Australia and one from a husband in France. My Google alert recently brought me to web sites in India and in the United Kingdom.
One husband, living in Lebanon, wrote that while he believed that his wife is heterosexual, and that God’s plan was for man and woman to procreate, “Catholic faithful or not, we all need to realize that there are many types of feelings in humans and we need to respect those feelings as long as we know that the people who feel them are not going to use those feelings to harm anyone in any way. WHEN LOVE REIGNS, PEACE WILL FOLLOW, regardless of who’s loving who.”
I wanted to share this because I could not have said it better.
My New Book: A Writer’s Journey
I am so pleased to be able to announce the publication of my latest book, A Writer’s Journey: What to Know Before, During, and After Writing a Book with Gray Rabbit Publications.
While I had written a few small pieces, and, occasionally, had one published, joining the International Women’s Writing Guild was the turning point in my writing life. It was in that positive environment, that I began to believe that I could actually write a book. And I did. My first book, Married Women Who Love Women, sold at auction to a major publishing house. And last year the second edition was released.
Based on my journey from neophyte writer to successfully published author and marketer, I taught a class called, “The Smart Writer’s Guide: What to Know Before, During and After Writing a Book.” It was during those classes, that I realized, “I have so much information. Why not put it all into a book?” That was how my latest book, A Writer’s Journey, came about. Within a week or two it will be available through any of the online bookstores or, it may be purchased directly through my website: here.
On another note, I was interviewed for Bound magazine in regard to an article they were doing on “(Un) Married Women”. The magazine, originally from Australia, will be available in the United States at Borders and Barnes and Noble as of late February. (For a sneak preview of the article now, click here). Although the piece talks about Meredith Baxter, who came out while on a cruise in November, most of it is from my interview with Bound‘s editor who I met while on the same cruise, and also from my book, Married Women Who Love Women.
Crown Publishing Group announced that Meredith Baxter will be writing a memoir of her life. Seems to me that my latest book, A Writer’s Journey: What to Know Before, During, and After Writing a Book,” would be just perfect for her.
An interview and a cruise!
November is starting off with a bang!
I will be doing an interview on a program called “Saturday Magazine” on Joy 94.9 FM, Australia’s only full-time GLBTI radio station, this week. I will be interviewed during the section of the show called “Journey”. The presenter referred to my book as “becoming a bit of a bible for women who are married and love women” (wow!)
You can listen to the interview here on Friday, November 6th from 7:15-7:55 pm EST.
I’m leaving for my all women’s cruise on the Norwegian Spirit the next day… what a nice beginning to my vacation this interview would be. The group running the cruise is called Sweet and they dub themselves “the Future of Lesbian Travel”.
Boosting my ego!
Sweet things written about me by the ladies of Evil Slutopia, who I met at the IWWG Skidmore Conference this June:
Carren Strock, author of Married Women Who Love Women, might be one of our favorite people on the planet. Yeah, I said it. On the planet. Her workshop “The Smart Writer’s Guide: What to Know Before, During and After Writing a Book” was incredibly useful (even though we also took it last year, because Carren keeps it fresh with new material each year based on her experiences) and Carren herself is just a lovely person to be around. Even when we were drunkenly babbling to her about BearForce1 one evening, she still wasn’t scared off! We need to start a fan site for her… we can call it “Women Who Love Married Women Who Love Women”.
